About Harmony Hospitality
From new select-service properties to full-service hotels, Harmony Hospitality’s family of hotels presents ten premier properties in southeastern Virginia and North Carolina’s most exciting destinations, including the oceanfront of Virginia Beach. Our Chesapeake Hampton Inns are in the heart of the business district and our Norfolk properties are convenient for Norfolk International Airport. In North Carolina, we offer the Embassy Suites by Hilton Riverfront Hotel in historic downtown Wilmington.
Harmony Hospitality, Inc. was established January 1, 2007, by Mark F. Garcea, Page S. Johnson, II, and Harvey L. Moore, to manage the hotel properties of Harmony Investments, Inc. Page Johnson (President), and Harvey Moore (Vice President), are the principals actively managing the company. They are assisted by John Sarvella, who serves as Vice President of Finance.
Harmony Hospitality has exceeded all original expectations and continues to grow at a brisk pace. Facilitating this growth is a core of dedicated, corporate office associates and experienced hoteliers who have been recruited to oversee the hospitality portfolio operations, food & beverage, information technology, revenue management, sales, maintenance/engineering, and financial operations.
Harmony is an experienced developer and operator of hotels and has earned the designation of “Hilton Hotel Preferred Developer.” We are the largest franchisee of Hilton Brands in the Hampton Roads market, owning and managing two DoubleTree’s, three Hampton Inns’, one Home2, and one Tru, all by Hilton. In the Norfolk International Airport vicinity, we own and operate five hotels with a total of 670 rooms. Furthermore, our corporate office is a mere two miles from Norfolk airport.
Mark Garcea
Owner
Mark F. Garcea spent the better part of two decades building an electronics company that laid the foundation for his many business and personal ventures. Born in Norfolk, he later settled in the Thoroughgood section of Virginia Beach. A 1974 graduate of Cox High School, he continued his studies at Tidewater Community College.
Garcea’s highly successful business, M&G Electronics, specialized in manufacturing harness wiring sets for boats, lawn tractors, and heavy equipment, operating facilities in Mexico, South Carolina, and Virginia Beach. By the age of 38, with a trusted team of capable managers overseeing operations, Garcea stepped away from the day-to-day demands of the business to pursue new opportunities — not only for profit, but for the enjoyment of building and creating.

In 1993, he partnered with his CPA, Page S. Johnson II, to establish Harmony Investments, Inc., focusing on the acquisition of shopping centers, office buildings, and hotels. As their hotel portfolio grew, the need for a dedicated management company became clear, and in 2007, Harmony Hospitality, Inc. was formed with the addition of Harvey L. Moore to the leadership team. In parallel, Harmony Investments developed four luxury apartment communities in Virginia Beach and Richmond, as well as several new hotels built from the ground up.
In 1992, the partners joined a group of investors to purchase the Norfolk Tides Baseball Club, with Garcea serving as the largest local individual investor. This venture marked his introduction to a higher-profile role in the region — one he neither sought nor shunned. Already well known along the East Coast for his achievements in electronics manufacturing, this investment broadened his local visibility and solidified his long-standing partnership with Johnson.
In 1996, Garcea and Johnson purchased the Norfolk Admirals Hockey Franchise. After several successful seasons, they elevated the team to the American Hockey League (AHL) to compete at a higher level, eventually selling the franchise in 2001.
When the struggling Hampton Roads Hurricanes soccer franchise sought his help, Garcea stepped in without hesitation. A passionate player and lifelong fan of the sport, he brought the team out of financial default and reintroduced it as the Hampton Roads Mariners.
To provide the Mariners with a professional-grade facility, Garcea and Johnson spearheaded the development and construction of the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, which opened in 1999 at a cost of $6.8 million. It was the first soccer-specific stadium built from the ground up in the United States. When the Mariners franchise was later sold, Garcea and Johnson also ensured that the remaining construction debt on the facility was fully paid. Today, the Sportsplex remains a vibrant venue for regional and national sporting events.
Garcea prefers to be regarded as an opportunist rather than a savior. In the most constructive sense, he takes pride in creating opportunities for hundreds of employees and remains deeply committed to supporting his community and the Catholic Church. His keen business acumen, paired with a genuine sense of empathy, reflects the ideal balance of professionalism and compassion that defines the Harmony Companies.
Page S. Johnson II
President
Page Johnson began his professional career as a Certified Public Account with Frederick B. Hill & Co. in Norfolk, VA. In 1993, with his client, he founded Harmony Investments, Inc. for the purpose of acquiring and managing commercial real estate properties. In 1994 he purchased his first hotel, the Ramada Plaza at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. With a renovation cost of $4.2 million, the hotel was rebranded as the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Additionally, the value of the property was increased by constructing a parking garage with 129 spaces, an additional 33 guest rooms and suites, along with a 5,200 square foot ballroom and a 2,400 pre-function space. This was only the first of numerous hotel acquisitions and renovations that would follow him throughout his career in the hospitality arena. Page’s finger is on the pulse of today’s company, and he continues to be a powerful force for Harmony as it moves forward with business operations and acquisitions.
